Here are some of the Training programmes now available through our YOUTH CENTRE.

HGV Licence. | Volunteers can use their new driving skills to drive a range of large vehicles, thus, helping with deliveries and transport, e.g. a community bus. |
Business Start-up. | Volunteers can better understand the running of and maintaining a business. This training is often used by food banks, independent organisations, and charity shops. |
SIA License (Security). | Volunteers have found that having the learned skills to identify and resolve potential issues before they happen, with effective communication, has enabled them to approach situations with new confidence. |
Mental Health & Wellbeing. | This affects everybody at some point in their lives. Our programme is designed to understand the symptoms and triggers of a decline in mental health, as well as exploring the stigmas that prevents people from reaching out. Volunteers will also learn how to safeguard, signpost, and identify, signs of mental ill health. |
English Maths & ESOL. | Essential English and Maths skills enable better written and verbal communication between volunteers and service users. |
Tutoring & Mentoring. | Our introduction to teacher training grants volunteers the life-skills to educate and mentor others. This could be put into practise with service users, or even training for colleagues. |
Volunteer Support Programme | This programme was put together for charities, by charities, and is now used as a mandatory induction programme by many organisations. It covers:

Emergency First Aid at Work – Level 3 | Volunteers will get hands-on experience using a defibrillator, & CPR doll, and will also learn how to cope with accidents and injuries ranging from adult/child choking, electric shocks, bleeding, and how to safely attend to an injured person. Furthermore, they will learn how to complete accident reports and Health and Safety checks. |
Digital Skills
(Basic & Advanced) |
Our basic Digital Skills programme serves as a perfect introduction to those wanting to learn their way around a computer.
For those already comfortable with the basics, we have an advanced programme that explores Microsoft 365 and associated applications. |

*To be eligible for the fully funded training. Candidates must be over 19 years of age from September 1st, 2024. They must have a Greater Manchester Postcode and have lived in the EU or UK for the past three years. If a candidate is here on a Visa, they can still access our training opportunities if their visa states they have access to public funding.
